What is IBPS Clerk?

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria Details
Nationality / Citizenship The candidate must satisfy the nationality/citizenship conditions prescribed in the latest official IBPS CRP-CSA notification.
Age Limit For CRP-CSA XV, the candidate must be between 20 and 28 years of age as prescribed in the official notification. The exact cut-off date and date-of-birth conditions should be checked in the applicable notification.
Educational Qualification The candidate must hold a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Graduation Result The candidate must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate confirming that the required graduation qualification has been obtained by the date specified in the official notification.
Local Language Proficiency Candidates applying for vacancies in a particular State/UT must be proficient in the specified local language of that State/UT, including reading, writing, speaking and understanding, as prescribed by IBPS.
Computer Literacy Working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory. Candidates should have a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in computer operations/language, or should have studied Computer / Information Technology as a subject at the required educational level.
Age Relaxation Eligible candidates belonging to categories such as SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-Servicemen and other specified categories may receive relaxation in the upper age limit according to applicable Government and IBPS rules.
Category Requirements Candidates claiming reservation or age relaxation must possess valid certificates and supporting documents in the prescribed format according to the applicable rules.
Other Requirements The candidate must satisfy all other conditions prescribed in the latest IBPS CRP-CSA notification, including document verification and other recruitment requirements.

Important Note: The Preliminary Examination consists of three sections with separate sectional timings and is used for shortlisting candidates for the Main Examination. The Main Examination consists of four sections with a total of 190 questions, 200 marks and 160 minutes.

Negative Marking: There is a penalty of one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer in the objective tests. No marks are deducted for questions that are left unanswered.

Final Selection: The Main Examination is the basis for final merit and provisional allotment. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not added to the final merit score.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Examination

Candidates first appear for the Online Preliminary Examination consisting of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Candidates who qualify the applicable requirements are shortlisted for the Main Examination.

2. Main Examination

Shortlisted candidates appear for the Online Main Examination, which consists of General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude.

3. Main Examination Merit

Marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for the final merit and provisional allotment according to the rules prescribed in the applicable IBPS CRP-CSA notification.

4. Provisional Allotment

Successful candidates are provisionally allotted to participating public sector banks based on merit, vacancies, preferences and the applicable IBPS recruitment rules.

5. Document Verification
